The new Cornerstone Care Clairton Community Health Center (CCHC) is a next generation facility serving the outpatient needs of the City of Clairton along with surrounding communities in this region of Southwestern Pennsylvania.  Cornerstone Care is already well established in Clairton and the new CCHC will further strengthen their position within the region by consolidating multiple healthcare services under one roof, housed in a state-of-the-art facility, situated in a convenient and easily accessible, centralized urban neighborhood.

The new three-story facility occupies a 0.76-acre redeveloped urban site, and in addition to the new building, the master plan is designed to accommodate two areas of on-site parking for 52 vehicles. Healthcare clinical spaces include family practice, pediatrics, behavioral health, lab, optometry, and dental departments. Additional space will be made available for street-level retail, community outreach, and incubator spaces.

The design of the new facility responds to the urban context, providing a welcoming pedestrian experience. Exterior materials were selected for their simplicity, economic value, and durability, incorporating a combination of ground-face CMU and single-skin architectural metal siding, into a balanced contemporary composition. Sustainable design initiatives feature high-performance glazing with integral shading devices, working together as a system to reduce solar heat gain and still provide generous amounts of natural daylighting. Managing solar heat gain reduces the size and workload required of the mechanical conditioning systems while the abundance of managed natural daylighting decreases the reliance on artificial lighting.
